We are proud to welcome Ed Bourelle and David “DC” Carl to WARMACHINE Weekend 2011. Trekking all the way from Seattle, Ed and DC will be hanging out and playing some games and enjoying the festivities. They also will be giving a presentation on Friday night before the start of the 20pt Mangled Metal/Tooth and Claw Hardcore event. Get your questions ready and prep your armies to face the two titans from the company.
Ed Bourelle picked up his first miniature at the age of seven and has been playing and creating tabletop games and RPGs ever since. With a background in graphic design, art direction, and illustration, Ed has worked on and led creative teams at design agencies, a software company, and a Fortune 500 telecommunications company. Ed started his own game company in 2001 and began working full time as a freelance artist and writer in the tabletop games industry. During that time he worked as both a volunteer and freelancer for Privateer Press.
In early 2009, Ed accepted a job with Privateer Press and now oversees the creative team behind WARMACHINE, HORDES, Bodgers Games, Monsterpocalypse, and more. His work day consists of planning and critiquing new model concepts, concept art, illustration, graphic design, and miniature sculpts. Somewhere in there he finds time to help move work forward on new products, games, and initiatives with the development and marketing teams.
David Carl, or “DC” as he is known to his friends and family, has been an avid gamer and amateur game developer since childhood. Throughout his career as an electrical engineer, he channeled his passion for the hobby of gaming into freelance work for numerous game companies. In 2008, he took on a full-time position with Privateer Press, his most frequent freelance employer.
During his time at Privateer Press, DC has been actively involved in development for WARMACHINE, HORDES, and Monsterpocalypse as well as working on upcoming games such as the new Bodgers Games Heap and the revamped Iron Kingdoms Roleplaying Game. His most challenging and rewarding project to date was leading the Field Tests for the launch of WARMACHINE and HORDES Mk II.
